This beautiful gilded chair rail molding is made the traditional way with 1 great improvement, a soild MDF ( medium density fiberboard ) core. Because MDF is a homogenious manufactured wood product it eliminates warping, splits and problems associated with knots. Truly the perfect core material. The rest of the manufacturing process is completely traditional. Plaster is applied, molded and baked then the molding is carefully gilded in hand applied 18K gold leaf.
